Red-footed Falcon update

Today we checked up on the Falcon boxes.

No interest as yet but it's early days.
We will not visit again now until early next Spring ..

















But the day was not wasted...it was good to see some other bird activity along the way....

Danube Bird Colony Survey

Today we joined the team from Sofia as part of a survey of all bird colonies along the entire length of the Danube, being conducted by the Ornithological Lab of the Bulgarian Academy of Science.

Recent walks

Well the guesthouse is starting to get really busy now but we are still able to time to take some time out with friends for a walk.....

Whiskered Terns

A colony of Whiskered Tern (Chlidonias hybridus)are successfully breeding on the South West of the Reserve again this year. We've counted around 50 nests, 23 of which are clearly visible from the ecotrail.




They are delight to watch and all our recent guests have enjoyed the opportunity to see them at close quarters.
