We live at the Pelican Lake Guesthouse & Environmental Project Centre Srebarna, adjacent to the Biosphere Reserve in North East Bulgaria. We provide regular updates on our project work and reports on activity on the reserve. We co-operate closely with a number of other conservation organisations to ensure a sustainable future for wildlife and the environment. Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday to Srebarna Reserve.

First declared a protected area 68 years ago in 1942.


Categorized as a Nature Reserve in 1948.

Protected by the Ramsar Convention in 1975.

Designated a World Biosphere Reserve in 1977



Inscribed as a Unesco World Heritage site in 1983.
