We live at the Pelican Lake Guesthouse & Environmental Project Centre Srebarna, adjacent to the Biosphere Reserve in North East Bulgaria. We provide regular updates on our project work and reports on activity on the reserve. We co-operate closely with a number of other conservation organisations to ensure a sustainable future for wildlife and the environment. Srebarna Birding Field Station

Srebarna Birding Field Station
The Pelican colony was adversely affected by the recent bad weather. Some of the breeding site reedbeds were blown much closer to the village. The impact of this on this and subsequent years populations can only be assessed after the breeding season is over. Meanwhile we have increased sightings of many other species. Garganey, Great Crested Grebe, Pygmy Cormorant, Herons, Egrets et al. Tomorrow the good people from Green Balkans, a conservation NGO, are visiting to release 3 Pelicans , 2 Swans and a Grey Heron from thier rehab centre.
