We live at the Pelican Lake Guesthouse & Environmental Project Centre Srebarna, adjacent to the Biosphere Reserve in North East Bulgaria. We provide regular updates on our project work and reports on activity on the reserve. We co-operate closely with a number of other conservation organisations to ensure a sustainable future for wildlife and the environment. Srebarna Birding Field Station

Srebarna Birding Field Station
Hi, around 50 Dalmatian Pelicans now resident here despite the recent cold snap and accompanying snow. We've just celebrated the coming Spring in the village with 'Baba Marta Day'. Our house is now festooned with Red and White.

I spent some time on the reserve today and recorded

The usual suspects and the following;

Brambling (50-60)
Sparrowhawk
Firecrest
Dalmatian Pelican (50)
Little Egret (40)
Little Owl

Jackal (Canis Aureus) right outside the guesthouse!!
