We live at the Pelican Lake Guesthouse & Environmental Project Centre Srebarna, adjacent to the Biosphere Reserve in North East Bulgaria. We provide regular updates on our project work and reports on activity on the reserve. Mid winter bird count

Very early this morning Mike joined an international team from Bulgaria, Chile, Colombia and UK including representatives from Dragoman Marsh and Kolyo Mihov of the Bulgarian Accademy of Science, to conduct the mid winter bird count for Silistra region.











By far the best sighting of the day was over 2,500 assorted ducks in the nearby village of Popina.
